We are seeking a Mining Engineer to support the technical planning, design review, and delivery of mining process plant projects. This role works across mining engineering, mineral processing interfaces, and construction management, contributing to design development, constructability reviews, execution planning, and onsite support during construction and commissioning. This position is suited to engineers with experience in hard-rock mining and mineral processing, particularly across gold, base metals, or iron ore projects.
Support the development and review of process plant designs (crushing, grinding, classification, gravity/CIP/CIL, flotation, tailings, utilities).
Work closely with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls teams to align designs with mine planning requirements.
Conduct mining-to-processing interface studies, including ore characteristics, testwork reviews, and ROM management considerations.
Assist with design criteria, equipment specifications, and technical deliverables.
Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, 3D model reviews, and constructability assessments.
Support the preparation of construction execution plans, schedules, and work packages.
Conduct site readiness and constructability assessments (earthworks, temporary works, haulage routes, laydowns, utilities).
Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and contractor performance.
Coordinate with EPC/EPCM partners, OEMs, fabricators, and site teams.
Manage RFIs/TQs and ensure technical alignment with project requirements.
Participate in FATs, SATs, and pre-commissioning activities.
Assist in commissioning planning, punch list closure, and system turnovers.
Support performance testing and ramp-up troubleshooting.
Ensure all as-built documentation and MDR records are completed for final handover.
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
3–8 years’ experience in mining or process plant projects.
Strong understanding of mineral processing flowsheets and interfaces.
Familiarity with WA mining regulations and/or international standards (AS/NZS, ISO, etc.).
Experience working in EPC/EPCM or Owner’s Team environments.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience with modularised or rapid-deployment plant design.
Background in gold (gravity, CIL/CIP), iron ore, or base metal concentrator projects.
Exposure to construction supervision or commissioning activities.
Ability to use project and engineering tools (P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, 3D viewers).
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
Safety-focused mindset with solid WHS understanding.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and QA/QC documents.
Effective stakeholder and cross-disciplinary communication.
Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Willingness to travel to site (FIFO/DIDO as required).
Work across full project lifecycle on major mining developments.
Exposure to modularisation, digital engineering, and modern construction practices.
